Apricot

My first homegrown apricot of the year and it was delicious! We haven’t got many on our tree, but they’re about the size of a tennis ball, are very juicy and sweet. I planted the tree in a greenhouse about six years ago because our son had a penchant for them (it seemed as good an excuse as any) and now they’re giving great fruit. 

I don’t think I’ll be giving up the day job to be a food photographer – there’s definitely an art to it! But I will keep on growing apricots and enjoy eating them for breakfast on the patio in the sun. 

Just for the record, I did share them with the family…though it possibly wasn’t an evenly balanced share!
