A good garden or landscape design has a variety of seating in a variety of places, to encourage users to sit, watch, contemplate, hear, smell and enjoy being outside. A woodland setting can have a simple bench made of planks or logs.  

If you want people to linger for longer, make sure it has a back to lean against and space for two or three people to chat (or one to lie back and enjoy the sunlight through the leaves).
